Hiking
Bled and its environs offer ideal conditions for hiking and mountaineering. You may choose a leisurely stroll around the lake and then to the top of one of the hills towering over the lake from where you may admire the views, the gentlest balm for a soul seeking rest and peace. Alternatively, you may test your fitness and stubbornness hiking to a nearby peak in the Julian or Karavanke Alps. Hiking and mountaineering are among our longest-standing traditions and Slovenia is renowned for its well-marked mountaineering paths.
The adrenaline rush of battling whitewater rapids is attracting more and more enthusiasts. The 10-kilometre ride along the Sava Dolinka (difficulty level 2-3) is not especially demanding and is suitable for families with children. Rental of a mini-raft is available, and you can make your reservation at reception. The activity lasts 3-4 hours and the price includes transfer and equipment rental. All you need are shoes, a swimsuit and towel.
Canyoning
This activity is ideal for those looking for more adrenaline than rafting offers them. A ride down gorges with neck breaking jumps and sliding over smooth, green torrential beds is a real thrill for those wishing to put their courage to the test. Canyoning is an unforgettable experience in the embrace of magical countryside, which awakens a true feeling of freedom. Canyoning may also be booked at reception; the activity lasts approximately 4 hours. Your safety will be ensured by an experienced guide/leader.
They say that those who have sat in a kayak never go rafting again. This is a more demanding sport, although that doesn't mean beginners can't try it too. A range of programmes to choose from means there's something for everyone, from beginners to the experienced, groups and individuals.
The only ski slope in the immediate vicinity of the heart of Bled is full of life in summer too. Summer sledging is a fun experience for all the family, in which a monorail track is set up on the steeper part of Straža hill, along which you ride downhill in a special sledge which reaches 40 km/h. The activity is only available in dry weather. Please contact reception for additional information.
Riding
Why not experience the beauty of Triglav National Park on the back of a Lipizzaner, one of the noblest breeds of horses in the world, the pride of Slovenes. Two-hour, four-hour and full-day excursions are available, but we recommend that you have some riding experience, and long trousers and suitable footwear are a must. Your guide will pick you up at the campsite.
Paragliding
Take on the challenge, overcome your fear and go paragliding. Enjoy thermal draughts which will lull you into infinite lightness. For safety reasons, these flights are only possible in ideal weather conditions. Please contact reception for additional information.
A balloon is always a true sight, either from close up or from afar, but it's most beautiful when it takes us up, up and away and opens up wonderful views of the countryside. Why not get up early and enjoy a bird's eye view of the beauty of Bled in the early morning when weather conditions are best and safest. You will take off from a clearing in front of the campsite and let the wind carry you for some hours. After landing, you will be taken back to the campsite.
Slovenia is extremely rich in water sources, which means it offers ideal habitat to many species of river and lake fish. Year on year Lake Bled is getting cleaner and richer in water life. Perhaps you'd like to spend a peaceful afternoon testing your fishing skills and luck angling for carp, pike, wels or alternatively fly-fishing in the rapids and pools of the Sava Bohinjka and Sava Dolinka. All permits are available from campsite reception.
Climbing may once have been a rather dangerous sporting activity. However, developments in climbing and safety equipment and techniques are making it more and more accessible for all the family. The renowned Alpine flying centre at Lesce offers you the chance to rise into the skies in an aero-taxi. The interesting menu of trips includes several routes throughout Gorenjska. Alternatively, you may plan your route yourself. For adventurers, we recommend a glider flight among the Alpine peaks, as this is the best way of getting to see the surrounding area.
